First Surgery Appt!!

So, it has been a long time since my first post and tons has happened since then!

First of all, let me just say that braces are a pain but a necessary inconvenience. I have had several appts and my teeth are moving more rapidly than we thought. That being the case my orthodontist believes that I will be able to have surgery in august or september!! :D

I made a trip home this past weekend for my first appt with the surgeons and such. I had the 3D picture taken of my head and a few other x-rays and imprints. The surgeon says I should be able to get the surgery done at his hospital and anytime the orthodontist says he is ready, he will be excited to get it done. Now he has to present my case to the hospital board and make a plan for treatment and surgery. I should know the suggested schedule within a week. My next orthodontist appt is this thursday and I will find out for sure when he thinks I should be ready for surgery.

I am really excited about surgery but a bit nervous too. Not going to lie! It's my face. Anything to do with my face freaks me out. However, it is only 2 months out of my life and then a long life with a correct bite and less pain (cross your fingers). It's totally worth it in my eyes. So I have started gathering ideas of things I should eat before surgery. Things that I won't be able to eat for 2 months! Man that will be hard...I LOVE FOOD! haha

Speaking of which I just made the best banana bread. Very moist and just yummy! I'll give ya the recipe because, well it's just so fantastic :D

4 Bananas
1 1/2 C. Flour (all-purpose or bread)
3/4 C. Sugar (brown or white)
2 Tbs Butter
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 Egg
2 Tbs Vegetable Oil or Apple Sauce

Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl or with a fork. Mix all ingredients in with spoon or in mixer. Pour in 1 loaf pan (greased). Bake for 50-60mins at 350 degrees
I added about a 1/4 C. of Chocolate chips just for fun...i like chocolate haha.

DO IT!! They are delicious. But that's it for the update. I will let you know more on thursday after I talk to my orthodontist and hear from the surgeons. Have fun and remember

RIPE PEACHES - everything happens for a reason, and when its supposed to so don't sweat it. :) Life is good
